H&R Block
Office Visibility

Details
During my time at H&R Block, I spent a large percentage of my time working on Office Visibility. That included store windows, yard signs, transportation wraps, bus stop signs, streetside poster stands, sidewalk signs, and billboards. I fought for cohesive design, playful content, and a strong brand presence for each seasonal campaign, for easy recognition and effectiveness.
Working alongside and often “against” the campaign work of our agency partners, my bosses would regularly challenge me to “outdo” the work the agency came back with. Luckily, about nine times out of ten, I was able to.

My Process
Review and mutual understanding of a comprehensive creative brief
Moodboarding and creative exploration
Research into current design trends, that could be in line with our overall design objectives
Initial designs and mockups: figure out which design directions are worth pursuing.
Initial Presentation and Review, which includes observing what landed well, what comments were made offhand that could be channeled into a better design, and being okay with going back to the drawing board.
Revisions and PIece Work: revise, revise, revise until it’s landing in a place that’s worth a final presentation. Piece out each design into a full campaign suite, which includes potential design variations for posters, billboards, ads, yard signs, sidewalk signs.
Final Presentation: hope for the best (and for light revisions)!
The goal:
The viewer is equal parts easily informed, delighted and intrigued by our messaging.
